Cobra

Snake spoon or also known as the cobra is aa type of of venomous snake Elapidae tribe . Called snake spoon (Jw., Ula Irus) because this snake can enforce and memipihkan neck when bothered by enemies. The neck is flattened and curved like a spoon or the Irus (spoon vegetable).

The term cobra in the Indonesian language is taken from English, cobra, which actually also is a loan from the Portuguese. In the final language, the cobra is a general term for snake, which is derived from the Latin colobra (coluber, colubra), which also means snake. When Portuguese sailors in the 16th century arrived in Africa and South Asia, they named the snake spoon they found there as cobra-capelo, hooded snake. From this name evolved similar titles in these languages ​​Spanish, French, British and other European languages​​.

Cobras normally berhabitat tropical and desert in Asia and Africa. Several types of cobras can reach lengths of 1.2 to 2.5 meters. King cobra can grow even up to 5.6 m, and is the largest venomous snake species in the world.
